"In fashion retail these days everything is mass-produced and mass market" groans Norma Camponi. Her business partner Sharon Streeton, nods vigorously."Personality is disappearing from our high streets and so many shops look the same. It makes it difficult to find anything different and takes the fun out of shopping."
So Sharon and Norma decided that retail needed a shaking up a bit.
In October 2005, these two former Harvey Nichols personal shoppers launched No.15Ltd, a dinky independent lifestyle boutique in Thornton's Arcade, Leeds. Inside, hand-picked clothing, jewelery and accessories rub shoulders with cult beauty products, unusual gifts and desirable objects for the home. The result is a space that is filled to bursting with inspiration.
This is not a brand led store catering for customers who need validation of a big label in their shopping bag; although an intriguing mix up of design talent and cult labels are featured, including Hoss Intropia, Bruuns Bazaar, Saaf Pure Skincare and The Branch.
